Spectrio and signageOS partner on automotive digital signage

News

Spectrio and signageOS have partnered to give automotive dealerships and multi-location auto groups more freedom in the hardware they run their digital signage on. With signageOS integrated into Spectrio CMS, part of Spectrio's Intelligent Engagement Suite™, Spectrio's automotive clients can deploy, manage, and scale signage across the screens they already own as well as new ones.

Spectrio provides a digital signage CMS and in-location marketing to businesses across many industries, with a strong presence in automotive retail. signageOS provides the device layer underneath, so Spectrio's content reaches dealership screens reliably regardless of which platform they run on.

The challenge: mixed hardware across dealership networks

Auto groups rarely grow on a single hardware standard. Each new location or acquisition adds its own mix of displays, media players, and operating systems.

Over time, that mix creates real friction. Proprietary platforms lock groups into one vendor, and upgrading the content strategy can seem to require replacing screens that still work.

What the integration does

signageOS gives Spectrio a standardized framework that connects hardware-level device controls directly to its cloud-based CMS. For Spectrio's automotive clients, that means:

  • Cross-platform compatibility. signageOS supports 50+ device platforms, and Spectrio CMS runs on Android, System-on-Chip (SoC) displays, BrightSign, Windows, Tizen, webOS, and ChromeOS. DevSpace by signageOS is where the Spectrio app is built and tested across these platforms.

  • Remote device management and monitoring. CloudControl by signageOS  puts every screen, at every location, in one view. When a display goes down, IT teams get an alert and can diagnose, reboot, or update it remotely, with no site visit and no waiting for showroom staff to notice a blank screen.

  • Consistent content delivery. Content plays the same way across mixed hardware fleets, from a single showroom to a multi-site group.

  • Longer hardware life. Existing displays stay in service longer, which lowers total cost of ownership. New locations and acquisitions can join the network with the hardware they already have.

"Dealerships shouldn't have to overhaul their physical hardware just to upgrade their digital display strategy. By bringing signageOS' device control framework to the Spectrio ecosystem, we're giving auto groups total hardware freedom—allowing them to seamlessly connect existing screens and new displays under one reliable management layer."

What it means for dealerships

Auto groups no longer have to choose one hardware vendor and stay with it. Legacy screens and new displays can run side by side under the same management, so groups can modernize at their own pace instead of all at once.

That flexibility matters most during change: upgrading an older display network, opening new locations, or rolling out a complex multi-site build.

"Hardware diversity shouldn't slow down the modern dealership experience. Partnering with signageOS allows our automotive clients to confidently support their legacy hardware while modernizing their digital signage experience. Whether upgrading legacy display networks or rolling out complex multi-site builds, signageOS provides the underlying standardization to make deployment seamless."

Getting started

Dealerships and auto groups planning a new digital signage rollout, or looking to simplify management of the screens they already have, can contact Spectrio to get started.

CMS providers and hardware manufacturers interested in a similar integration can contact signageOS.

Frequently asked questions

How do auto groups manage digital signage across multiple rooftops?

Multi-rooftop digital signage needs one management layer that covers every location, whatever hardware each rooftop runs. With signageOS integrated, Spectrio gives auto groups with multiple rooftops remote device management, device monitoring, and consistent content delivery across all their sites.

Can I upgrade dealership digital signage without replacing screens?

Yes. Spectrio's automotive clients can keep their existing displays and add new ones under the same management. Keeping working hardware in service extends the life of dealership digital signage displays and lowers total cost of ownership.

Does digital signage for car dealerships work with mixed hardware?

Yes, with hardware-agnostic software. Through signageOS, Spectrio CMS runs on Android, System-on-Chip (SoC) displays, BrightSign, Windows, Samsung Tizen, LG webOS, ChromeOS, and custom hardware setups so one dealership network can mix platforms. To discuss your setup, contact Spectrio.
